About Snowmobile Levi

A guide for a day on the trails

Snowmobile Levi is an independent guide for everyone planning a snowmobile ride from Levi, the fell resort in Finnish Lapland. Here you will find how the safaris compare, what the licence and age rules mean for drivers and passengers, how evening and northern lights rides work, what a ride costs per person and what a driver is liable for, how the official trail network and its map work, how Levi compares with Rovaniemi, and the resort itself with its snow season, daylight and temperatures.

The site is available in English and five additional languages. It is written first in English.

How we research

Every number on our pages comes from a source that we link to at the bottom of the page: mostly Visit Levi, the official Levi site, the Municipality of Kittilä, Traficom, the Finnish Road Safety Council, Metsähallitus, Visit Finland and the Finnish Meteorological Institute, with climate averages we worked out from NOAA's records for the Kittilä Airport and Kittilä village stations. Information on tours, that is duration, languages, inclusions, age limits, liability and starting prices, is taken from the offers on GetYourGuide.

Snow, ice and clear skies cannot be ordered, and every operator sets its own rules on who drives, which licence counts and how old a passenger must be. That is why we tell you plainly what a listing states and what it leaves open.

How we make money

Snowmobile Levi is funded through the GetYourGuide affiliate program. When you book through one of our links, we receive a commission; your price remains the same. There are no advertising banners here, and we do not sell your data.

Who is behind it

Snowmobile Levi is run by Lukas Weber from Munich. You will find all details about the provider in the legal notice. The easiest way to send questions, comments, or corrections is to email [email protected].
